Allison Cara Tolman (born April 2nd 1984) is an American actor. Best known as Molly Solverson from the FX TV show Fargo in its first season. She has also received nominations for the Emmys and Golden Globes. Tolman's early life and education Tolman was the older of two brothers and a younger sister. The family relocated out of England into Sugar Land in Texas at the age of an infant. Then she spent the next five year in Oklahoma before moving to Sugar Land. At the Fort Bend Community Theatre, she began taking acting lessons in the age of 10. Clements High School in Clements in Texas. She graduated with a certificate in the year 2000. Baylor University has awarded her with a degree of bachelor of Fine Arts in Dramatic Performance. Her move to Dallas after college and was one of Second Thought Theatre's founders. After moving to Chicago for a semester at The Second City Training Center In 2009, she returned to Illinois to continue her studies in 2009. Career In 2014, Tolman starred in the first episode of FX black comedy crime series Fargo. Fargo was based upon the Coen Brothers' 1996 film that had the same title. The show starred Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman alongside Bob Odenkirk. Tolman received praise for her performance as Minnesota policeman Molly Solverson, with Vanity Fair saying that she "calmly and assuredly stole the entire show". Tolman won the Critics' Choice Television Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress in the category of Movies/Miniseries. Additionally, her nominations for Best Actress were received at the Emmy Awards as well as the Golden Globes. It was also in the same year that it was announced that Tolman will make an role on the Mindy Project as Abby Berman who is a romance writer. Tolman was the support character in Michael Douglas' movie about horror Krampus. Tolman declined several support roles, such as those that were played by wives, mothers and girlfriends, after her debut in Fargo. Tolman wanted a different role. Tolman appeared in ABC's Downward Dog in 2017, based on Animal Media Group's website series. It was cancelled after one season. Tolman was a star on ABC's drama series Emergence which debuted on September 24, 2019. It was pulled on May 21, 2020 after only one season despite "pretty good" numbers, as per Tolman. The actress was also an guest on the show on NBC called Good Girls. She was a part of 2021's Alma Filcott on the second season of Why Women Kill and Natalie Green, The Facts of Life, of Live in Front of a Studio Audience the third edition.
